Obituary

CALLINE HAINES "GRANNY" DUKE, Age 88, a resident of East Prairie, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born December 12, 1927, at Barnes Ridge, MO, to the late John and Lamon Swindle Haines, she was a graduate of Diehlstadt High School at Diehlstadt, MO. In 1954, she moved to Nashville, TN where she lived for over 60 years, returning to East Prairie in 2014 to be near her son. While living in Nashville, she attended the Woodbine Church of Christ.

On March 25, 1948, she married Washington Cleveland Duke, who preceded her in death on January 15, 1990.

Survivors are her son and daughter in law, Cleve David and Gwen Tanksley Duke of East Prairie; two grandsons and granddaughters in law, David Cullan and Michelle McTigue Duke of Camp Point, IL and Travis Kyle and Cindy Feezor Duke of Charleston; one great granddaughter, Hadley Calline Duke and one great grandson, Travis Fremont Duke of Camp Point, IL; four brothers, Donil Haines of Nashville, TN; Bill Haines of Caledonia, MI ; James Haines of East Prairie and Dennis Haines of Corning, AR; three sisters, Pauline Duke of Cypress, IL and Doris Hansen and Janet Croney both of Nashville, TN; also a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cletus Haines, Jackson Haines and Charles Haines.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Eulogy will be delivered by her niece, Debbie Hawkins. Music will be provided by great granddaughter, Hadley Calline Duke.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
