Cameron Eshon Simmons, age 29, a resident of Cape Girardeau, MO, sadly passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home after an extended illness.

Born June 25, 1996, at Sikeston, MO, to Amanda Pearson and Robert Simmons, Jr., Cameron grew up in Sikeston, MO.  Cameron loved to travel and never met a stranger. Cameron always said nobody could BBQ better than him.  Cameron joined the Missouri National Guard after graduating from Sikeston High School in 2014. Cameron went on to serve nine years with two different units with all his laugh, jokes and smiles being about the 1221st Transportation.

Surviving are his parents, Amanda Pearson of Sikeston; his father, Robert Simmons, Jr. of Cape Girardeau; his fiance, Derrick Blake of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Ayden Simmons and Marcus Blissett, Jr., both of Sikeston; his brother, Dennis Andrews of Sikeston; three sisters, Aniyah Pearson and Ranevaeh Simmons both of Sikeston and Amerie Simmons of Cape Girardeau; his maternal grandmother, Kathy Pearson of Sikeston; his paternal grandparents, Gwen Thomas and Robert Simmons, Sr., both of Cape Girardeau; and a host of cousins, uncles, aunts and extended family as well as his dog "Deuce."

Cameron was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather and favorite person, Carl Pearson and his paternal great grandma, Ann Pearson, who helped raise him.

Cameron will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  His vibe and love for life and family will live on through all who knew him.

And in the words of Cam himself, "I been put out of better establishments!"

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO.  His uncle Leonard Pearson will officiate.

Interment with full military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Clay Greer, Adrian Simmons, Leland Thomas, Rogeric Cannon, Dennis Andrews and Eric Pearson.
