Obituary

CARL WILLIAM "BILL" MYERS SR., age 76, a resident of El Paso, TX formerly of Charleston, died Friday, April 6, 2018, at The Bartlett House in El Paso, TX.


He was born April 8, 1941 in Cairo, IL to Carl W. and Ada Hequembourg Myers. A 1959 graduate of Charleston High School, he received a full football scholarship to attended Murray State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Fulfilling his commitment to ROTC he served in the US Army and obtained the rank of Captain. Following his service with the Army, he worked for the Ford Motor Company in Kansas City, MO. Later, he partnered in the organization of Modular Ambulance Corporation in Dallas, TX. He then founded and operated Southwest Professional Vehicles Inc. in Dallas, TX, Kansas City, MO and Atlanta, GA.


Surviving are two sons, Carl William (Cindy) Myers and Michael Bethune Myers all of El Paso, TX; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Jason) Spencer of Dallas, TX; two step sons, Sean (Nikki) Myers of Kansas City, and Greg Bland of Austin, TX; three sisters, Suzanne Warren of Charleston, Mossie (Mike) Schallon of Wentzville, and Julie (Chris) Moore of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Joseph Wesley and Carl Liam Myers of El Paso, TX , Myers and Sydney Spencer of Dallas, TX; seven step grandchildren, Coleson, Cooper, and Hannah Myers of Kansas City and Hailey, Morgan, Jordan, and Alex Bland of Austin, TX; and five nieces; five great nephews and three great nieces.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Raymond Myers, and one brother in law, Harry Warren III.


Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.


Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Martin Lucas of East Prairie officiating, and Michael Walden and Jim "Doc" Bennett as Eulogists.


Missouri Military Honor Guard will conduct Graveside Rites at the IOOF Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.


Pallbearers will be, Todd Hall, Finn Hall, Steven Galemore, Mason Galemore, Darren Sanders, Lindsay Goodin, Tristan Goodin and Jerry Green.
