CARMEN R. BRAZEL, Age 93, a resident of Cape Girardeau and formerly of McClure, IL and Charleston, MO, died Friday, September 12, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born October 8, 1920, at McCroy, AR, to the late Norman B. and Anna Adkisson French, she had lived in rural Scott County most of her life and was a member of the Karnak Baptist Church in Karnak, IL.
On January 27, 1937, she married James Robert Brazel, who preceded her in death on February 1, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Brazel of Charleston and Larry Brazel of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Pam Ulen of Ullin, IL and Patsy Holland of Benton, MO; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilbur "Bo" French, Sr., Barrett French, Norman "Sonny" French and Jack French, and by three sisters, Marjorie Harrison, Ruth Lovett and Frances King.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Gerald Collier of Jackson will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
