Carolyn Tousky Baker, age 82, of Charleston, died Friday, December 23, 2022, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born January 17, 1940, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Rudolph Alvin Tousky and Ruth Lee McIntosh Tousky and had lived in Charleston most of her life.   She was a known gospel singer in the Southeast Missouri area, singing for revivals, weddings and funerals.  She and her husband also owned and operated the Lighthouse Gospel Theater in Charleston for many years, giving many a place to share their talents.

She married Homer Lee Baker who survives of the home.  They shared over 66 years together.

Also surviving are her sons, Charles Alvin (Sheila) Baker of Sikeston; Gary Robert (Debbie) Worthy, Sr. of Charleston and Randy Keith (Mary Jo McCalister) Worthy of Marston; six grandchildren, Ben (Jessica) Baker, Bryan (Liz) Baker; Gary (Jana Peters) Worthy, Jr., Alisha (Paul) Brown; Joseph McCalister and Shannon McCalister; 17 great grandchildren; also, her sister, Jane (Eugene) Reinhart of Charlotte, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Tousky and her sister, Kitty Gale Nelson.

There is no visitation.

Friends may assemble at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston for graveside services.    Tommy Smotherman will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ben Baker, Bryan Baker, Gary Worthy, Jr., Joseph McCalister, Brodie Baker and Conner Baker.
