Carolyn Sadie Cogdill Childers, age 80, formerly of Charleston, MO, died Friday, December 12, 2025, at her home in Mobile, AL, surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 12, 1945, at Cairo, IL, to the late George Vernon Cogdill and Sadie Woodard Cogdill, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was an independent life insurance agent for a number of years.  She had lived in Alabama the last several years to be near her daughter.

On November 22, 1962, she married Gary Bruce Childers, who preceded her in death September 23, 2018.

Surviving is her daughter and son in law, Leslie and Keith Ellis and her beloved grandchildren, Abbie and Joey, also a number of extended family members and a number of friends.

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Vernon "Bill" Cogdill, Jr.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at a later date with burial to be next to her husband Bruce at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston, MO.
