IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Evans
Woten
December 19, 1943 – January 22, 2019
Carolyn (Evans) Woten
Our Lord said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly," (John 10:10). Carolyn lived life abundantly and shared life abundantly with others.
Carolyn (nee Evans) Woten was born December 19, 1943, at Cairo, Illinois, to Dellon and Martha (Fox) Evans, and left us to share her talents at her heavenly home on January 22, 2019 at home in Firestone, Colorado.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, partner, best friend and soul mate of 30 years, Richard, and their baby Yorkies, Rossi and Missy of Firestone, Colorado; her mother, Martha Evans; sister, Marsha Tremaine; and nephew, Shawn Dellon Tremaine, all of Jefferson City, Missouri. Also, one uncle and a host of cousins and friends.
Carolyn is the granddaughter of the late Hascal and Hontas (McCuiston) Fox of Charleston, MO.
Carolyn attended Charleston schools into high school. She attended and was baptized at First Baptist Church, Charleston, on March 30, 1952. She graduated from Jefferson City High School and attended Airline School in Kansas City before working at Waddell & Reed Investment Management in Shawnee Mission, KS. She later worked in Jefferson City in the Secretary of State's office, office of Governor Hearnes (also a Charleston native), and the Department of Agriculture, and the University of Missouri's Honors College in Columbia, MO.
Carol always had other things going! She was the Fox family's hub and photojournalist. She was a crafter, caterer, decorator, and motorcycle rider. She continued her father's love of motorcycles and shared that passion with Richard as she owned multiple motorcycles and rode thousands of miles alone and with Richard.
Carolyn was spunky, practical, wise, and loving. She leaves a gaping hole.
Family may assemble at noon Sunday, January 27. 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Rev. J. Robert Webster, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
