CATHY RENEE SCAGGS CRAY, age 68, died Thursday, December 23, 2021, at her home in Sikeston.

She was born May 10, 1953, at East St. Louis, IL, to the late James Edward Scaggs and Ruby Lois Dobbs Scaggs.   Having lived in Sikeston a number of years, she loved volunteering at the hospital, baking and cooking and gardening. She loved spoiling her grandchildren. Cathy had attended the Fellowship Baptist Church.

On April 29, 2002, she married John Cray, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are her children, Kevin Lee (Rachael) Riggins of Paducah, KY; Tim (Christina) Riggins of Advance and Lois Renee Campbell of Sikeston; her brother, Jim Scaggs of Jackson; her sisters, Rheta Evans of Silva and Vicky Cook of McCleansboro, IL; her grandchildren, Logan, Tayla, Alexis, Bailey, Olivia, Jackson, Keaton, Timmy, Dylan, Kaylee and Aubree; great grandchildren, Amelia (Millie), Bryson and Harmony; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rhonda Meloy and Belinda Scaggs.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. Ken Cook will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
