CECIL WESLEY FRANCIS, Age 71, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at his home in Diehlstadt.
Born July 27, 1941, at St. Louis, MO to the late Cecil R. and Fern Link Francis, he had lived in Diehlstadt the past 18 years where he was a member of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church. He was employed at the Pilot Knob Pellet Company for 13 years before going to work at Noranda at Marston where he retired after 25 years. Before moving to Diehlstadt, he had lived in Sikeston and the Park Hills and Farmington area a number of years.
On June 16, 1962, he married Wanda Marie Hendrix, who survives of the home in Diehlstadt.
Also surviving are: two sons, Wesley Allen Francis of Bertrand and Timothy Joseph Francis of Park Hills; three daughters, Roxy Marie Walker of Park Hills, Audra Elaine Perry of Diehlstadt and Heather Dawn Odle of Charleston; one brother, Jerry Lynn Francis of Farmington; two sisters, Patricia Jo Ann Mell of Farmington and Nova June Henderson of Farmington; three children they raised, Brenda Williford of Doe Run, MO; Karol Clementz of Prophetstown, IL and Jerry Hendrix of Farmington, MO; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Lee Francis; one adopted daughter, Kathy Hendrix and by one sister, Shirley Jeanette Pribble.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013. Dewayne Kirkpatrick, pastor of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Timothy Francis, Steven Odle, Jason Walker, Thomas Lee Perry, Michael Lindsey, Ryan Walker, Daniel Walker and Ricky Miller.
