Charlene Chism, age 83, died Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her home in Sikeston.
Born January 5, 1941, at Steele, MO, to the late Charles Chism and Helen Ottinger Chism, she had lived in Sikeston most of her life and was retired from Gates Rubber Company in Charleston after 20 years of service. Charlene loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, Barry Grissom and her daughters, Cyndi (Darrell) Barksdale and Elishia (Jimmy Parker) Baker all of Sikeston; her grandchildren, Scott Keefer, Nikki (Will) Brooks, Elizabeth (Josh) Clark, Lindsey Dockery, Blake Pennington, Leslie Barksdale, Will Barksdale and Zeke Pennington; also, her great grandchildren, Ryan Rhodes, Ti Dockery and Miah Clark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Pennington, II.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m., Monday, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. The Rev. Glen Cantrell, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her grandsons in law.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Baker, Carl Merideth, Darrell Barksdale and Jimmy Parker.
