CHARLES BONNEFEN BAUGH, Age 87, a resident of Charleston, died Friday, November 18, 2016, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.
He was born April 5, 1929, in the Birds Point Community of Mississippi County, MO, to the late Frank Thomas Baugh and Ruth Bartlett Baugh. Having attended the Birds Point School, he served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1952 where he was stationed in Germany and France. He had been employed with the McKessien-Robbins Wholesale Pharmacy at Cairo, IL, the Brown Shoe Company at Charleston and with Al and Louise Moreton at Moreton Oil Company in Wyatt prior to going to work with Cairo Marine Service at Cairo, IL where he was employed over 30 years and had served as Union Steward and in 1995 was made Assistant Port Captain. In 1981, he and his wife moved from Wyatt to Charleston. He was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.
On January 17, 1953, he married Dorothy Joyce Parker, who preceded him in death February 28, 2013.
Surviving is two daughters and one son in law, Vicky Cloutier of Charleston and Terry and Tom Richey of Sikeston; one brother, Bill Baugh of Granite City, IL; one sister, Lucy Noisworthy of Charleston; three grandchildren, Jeremy Butler of Charleston and Charlie Richey of Joplin, MO and Cayse Richey of Kansas City, KS.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Baugh, Thomas Baugh and Lawrence Baugh and one sister, Hallie Sickling.
Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Dean Wallace, pastor of the Wyatt Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home with full military honors provided by the United States Army and the Missouri Military Program.
Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Butler, Rusty Baugh, Mark Baugh, Andy Baugh, Tommy Butler, Tom Richey, Gary Noisworthy, Harold McClendon and Donnie Sams.
