IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Lowell
Brink, Jr.
September 21, 1935 – November 4, 2025
Charles Lowell Brink, Jr., was born in Parkville, MO on September 21, 1935, to Anita McNabb Brink and Charles Lowell Brink, Sr., and died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at his home in Charleston. He had recently celebrated his 90th birthday with friends and family.
Charles grew up in the Kansas City area and joined the United States Army after High School. With the GI Bill, he attended the University of MO and met Dorothy Anne Goodin. They were married in 1958. Charles moved to Charleston in 1961 and adopted the town as his own. He had been president of the Kiwanis Club, Lion's Club Man of the Year and was an active member of the Charleston United Methodist Church, serving as Chairman of the board and of the Finance committee. He and Dorothy Anne delivered Meals on Wheels for over 35 years. Charles was an avid and competitive golfer and had made 3 Hole in One's in his golfing career.
Charlie loved to gamble on coffee. He met daily over the entire course of his life in Charleston to gamble on coffee with his friends. These men have shared many cups of coffee and bet many $20 bills. We thank all these people who enriched his life right up to the end.
Charles loved Dorothy Anne and together they raised a family built of love. For his 90th birthday in September, all six grandchildren and their spouses, and the great grandchildren were in attendance, and he was regaled with stories of their lives.
Charles owned and operated Brink Insurance Agency for many years before retiring to break a horse or two and grow watermelons. He also enjoyed writing personal interest articles for the local newspapers. He and Dorothy Anne loved to ride horseback together, and they traveled all over the United States, even walking across the Grand Canyon from rim to rim. He was James Naile's greatest fan. He loved his grandchildren, and they loved him. His six grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
He was preceded in death by wife of 62 years, Dorothy Anne Brink and his daughter, Sallyanne. Also, by his parents, his sister Gloria McGurn, his brother Donald Brink and his sister Betty Owsley.
He is survived by his sister Carol Waterman, daughter Sara Jane Goodman (Frank), his son Scott G. Brink (Lachele), his son-in-law Jerry Don Naile, jr, and six grandchildren, Brink Naile (Ali), Cameron Goodman (Sara), Jettie Kate Brink, Edward Goodman (Tara), Jane Ellen Corgan (Kyle), James Naile and 2 great grandchildren, Owen LeGrand and Tillie Kate Corgan.
There is no visitation.
