CHARLES LEE 'CHARLIE' GLENN, Age 54, died Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at his home in Charleston.
Born November 11, 1955 at Cairo, IL, to Colleen Thompson Glenn who survives of Charleston and the late Robert Jay Glenn, Jr., he had lived in Mississippi County his entire life. He was a 1974 graduate of Charleston High School, had attended Murray State University at Murray, KY and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church of rural Charleston. He was engaged in the family farming operation and was a member of the Peach Country Beagle Club at Wilhelmina, MO. and Tallahatchie Beagle Club at Ecru, MS. Charlie was a generous and kind man who always put others first.
Surviving besides his mother is his companion, Amy Smotherman of Charleston; one brother and sister in law, Dale and Vanessa Glenn of Charleston; one sister, Carol Stewart of Pittsfield, IL; 6 nieces and nephews and three great nieces.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 7, 2010. Richard Smith of Benton, MO and Rev. Ted Wimberley, pastor of the New Bethel Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Morrow, Jimmy Sisk, Kyle Duke, Billy Taylor, Richard Kelly, Jeff Williams and Allen Smith.
