Charles "Charlie" Ignatious Lutz III, age 64, passed away November 26, 2014 at his home in Scottsdale, AZ where he had lived for many years.
He was born November 27, 1949, to the late Charles I. "Peachy" Lutz, Col. Ret. and LaTane Mooring Lutz. Growing up in Charleston, MO he became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Charleston High School. He attended Memphis State University and graduated with majors in physics and math. After college graduation he served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Commander/Instructor, training students in all phases of flying high performance jet aircraft.
After the Air Force, his career was spent in high tech sales. One of those jobs was at Apple Computer as a National Account Sales Mgr. He was working there during the time of the introduction of the Lisa computer, the first ever personal computer with a graphic user interface.
After early retirement he turned his attention to real estate and equities investments. His other interests included fitness pursuits, golf, plant propagation and making his yard a showplace.
He is survived by one sister, Julie Lutz Simmons of Scottsdale, AZ, one niece, Elizabeth Simmons Lyon of Atlanta, GA and one nephew, George Elliott Simmons of Marietta, GA.
Graveside rites will be held at 11:00 am Saturday December 27, 2014 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston, MO under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
