Obituary
Charles Russell "Rusty" McConkey, III, age 61, died Saturday, January 6, 2018, at his home in Bertrand.
Born June 3, 1956, at Eldorado, IL, to the late Charles Russell McConkey, II and Rosie Pemberton McConkey, he had lived in Diehlstadt and Bertrand most of his life. At age 14, he started a lifelong career installing ceramic tile and had worked with Howard Flooring of Paducah, KY for over 30 years until his retirement. He loved to fish and was a collector of record albums. He had lived in Paducah, KY for 15 years and returned to Bertrand two years ago.
On August 8, 1974, he married Pamela June Pemberton, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his children, Stacy Alcorn and Chastity Hupp of Sikeston and Charles Russell "Chuck" McConkey, IV of Diehslstadt; one sister, Beverly (Lester) Bowles of Bertrand, MO; 8 grandchildren, one great grandson and one great grandchild on the way.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
