Charles Burris Ward, Jr., 70, a resident of Sikeston, died Saturday, Jan. 24,, 2015 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. He was born March 27, 1944 in New Madrid County to the late Charles B. Ward, Sr. and Violet (Westmoland) Ward. A resident of this area since 2004, he had previously lived in Vero Beach and Sebastian, Florida. He had been a County Road Maintenance worker in Florida, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era. He was married March 29, 1969 to Margaret L. Boyce in Kansas City, MO and she preceded him in death Jan. 16, 2015. He is survived by 1 brother, Wendell Ward of Kansas City, MO and by 2 sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Brenda Cochran both of Sikeston. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 11:30 am until time for services at 12:30 pm Wednesday, Jan. 28.
