Charlotte Marie Collins Huffstutter, age 81, a resident of Kennesaw, GA , formerly of Charleston, died on Friday, April 6, 2012 in Austell, Georgia.

She was born September 7, 1930 in Tiptonville, Tennessee to the late William and Virginia Collins. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Charlotte was an educator most of her life. She began her teaching career in Bell City in 1948 after having completed just one semester of college. While continuing her own education, she began teaching the upper elementary grades in Charleston in 1962. In 1969, following the completion of an advanced degree in elementary counseling, she became the school counselor at Hearnes Elementary School, a position she retained until her retirement in May 1990. For several years after retirement from public education, she worked part time in adult education programming.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Robert Huffstutter of Kennesaw, GA; three children, Bob (Rita) Huffstutter of West Monroe, LA, Jan (Larry) Page of Cherry Hill Village, CO, and Kim Huffstutter of Fairmont, GA; eight grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Claire Lokey Nussbaum, Carson, Cabot, Corbin, and Tyler Huffstutter, Anne and Hana Lokey; two great grandchildren, Ava Williams and Asher Nussbaum; also two brothers George Collins of Cape Girardeau, and Lowell (Johnalee) Collins of Union City, TN.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Collins.

A celebration memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Burnt Hickory Church of Christ in Kennesaw, Georgia.
