Charlotte Kay Douglas Tidwell, age 77, of Sikeston, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her home in Sikeston.

Born January 23, 1948, at Cairo Illinois, to the late Charles Douglas and Faye Wells Douglas.  She was raised in Wickliffe, KY on the Wells Family Farm.  She was a 1966 graduate of Sikeston High School and lived in St. Louis, MO for a while with her first husband, then moved to Hermann, MO with her second husband.  She later moved back to Sikeston when her youngest daughter was one years old to work as a baker and grill cook.  She also graduated from cosmetology school to learn how to cut hair. She never pursued a career in cosmetology, although she was very talented doing hair.  She loved crafting all sorts of things and was involved in the grandmother program.  She loved all her babies, as she called them.

On September 8, 1990, in Sikeston, MO, she married Troy Tidwell, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are her children, Linda Reynolds of Sikeston, Angie (Mike) Finney of Benton, MO, Claudia Tynes (Eric Lawrence) of Sikeston, Mo, Daniel (Christie) Wells of Barlow, KY; son-in-law Nick Stockton of Portageville, MO;  two step-sons she raised as her own – Jonathan Tidwell and Terrance (Dana) Tidwell of Sikeston, MO; siblings Rita Cooksey of Poplar Bluff, Sarah (John) Wolffer of Oakville, MO, brother-in-law Gene Hosey of Sikeston, sister-in-law Joyce Douglas of Kentucky; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great children; also, nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, daughter Bonnie Stockton, a son-in-law Billy Reynolds her sister Patricia Hosey, two brothers Kenney Douglas and Gary Douglas and brother-in-law Bill Cooksey.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025.  Larry M. Tucker, pastor of Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Puxico, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, MO under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Russell Johnson, Tim Hosey, Patrick Cooksey, Dossy (Dusty) Nance, Brice Burns and Curtis (Boo) Curton.
