CHERI ANITA VESPO MYRICK, Age 66, a resident of East Prairie, MO; died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Born May 30, 1944, at Memphis, Tennessee, to Frances Anita Dunn Vespo who survives of Grayson, GA and the late Querina "Woody" Vespo, she received her teaching degree from Memphis State University and her Master's degree with emphasis in speech from Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In 1969, she moved to East Prairie where she taught English, Publications, Speech and Drama for over 30 years until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston.
On February 6, 1971, she married Jerry R. Myrick, who survives of the home. They had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include: two daughters and sons in law, Erin Myrick Cote and her husband Ryan Cote of Atlanta, GA and Susan Myrick Marshall and her husband Ben Marshall of East Prairie; one brother, Jerry R. Vespo of Lake Cormorant, MS; one sister, Anna "Toni" Rone of Grayson, GA; one granddaughter, Harper Elizabeth Marshall of East Prairie; four nephews, Christopher Rone, Jamie Myrick, Jeremy Myrick and John Myrick; one niece, Stephanie Rone Tanajewski; also several great nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Missouri. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m, Friday, February 25, 2011 at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. Father Glenn Eftink, pastor of St. Henry Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Ben Marshall, Ryan Cote, Chris Rone, Ron Howell, Reid Howell and Keith Marshall.
