CLAUDE EDWARD WHEATLEY, Age 69, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home in East Prairie.

Born March 8, 1944, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Robert (Bob) Wheatley and Annie Beatrice Redfering Hopper, he was a member of the Assembly of God Church in East Prairie. Having worked a number of years as a millwright for Fed-Ex in Memphis, TN, he returned to East Prairie in 2011 after his retirement.

Surviving are: one son and daughter in law, Terry and Missy Wheatley of East Prairie; two grandchildren, Dustin and Marlana Wheatley; two brothers, Harry Tucker and his wife Nancy of Lowell, IN and Raymond Wheatley of East Prairie; one sister, Jessica Organ of East Prairie; also a special mention to Reese and Lynette Kidd of Indiana and many relatives and a host of friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Wheatley and his wife Bernice; William Wheatley and his wife, Peggy; two sisters Mary Leda Easley and Pansy Woolverton;

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Cremation will follow.
