Cleta Arlene Blanchard, 92, formerly of Doniphan, died Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Westwood Nursing Center in Augusta, Georgia. She was born Oct. 19, 1921 near Bennett (Ripley County), Missouri to the late John Jackson and Laura (Bratton) Ollar. On Jan. 22, 1944 she was married to James Polk Blanchard in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death Aug. 3, 1986. She was a retired packer/machine operator at Vitronic Manufacturing and was a member of First Baptist Church of Doniphan. Surviving are two children: 1 daughter, Beth Loftis of Evans, Georgia and 1 son, Jim (Dianne) Blanchard of Sikeston; 4 grandchildren: Elaine Millsaps of Marietta, Ga., Dwayne (Tonya) Loftis of Augusta, Brad (Stephanie) Blanchard of Kansas City, MO and Brent (Shannon) Blanchard of Des Moines, Iowa; and 5 great-grandchildren Madison Millsaps, Ryan Loftis, Barret Loftis, Delaney Blanchard and Leighton Blanchard. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers: Frank Ollar, Paul Ollar, Harry Ollar, Homer Ollar and Fred Ollar; 4 sisters, Stella Johnson, Edna Gordon, Reva Roberts and her twin sister, Leta Steele; and by one grandson-in-law, Greg Millsaps. Visitation for Mrs. Blanchard will be from 11:00 am Tuesday, April 1 until time for service at 2:00 pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Bro. Luther Abbott will officiate and burial will follow at the Doniphan City Cemetery.
