CLIFF COSSEY

Clifton Eugene Cossey, Jr., 71, of Wyatt, died Monday, May 24, 2021, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born May 12, 1950, in Wyatt, to the late Clifton H. "Butch" Cossey and Joyce June Prayor Cossey and had lived in Wyatt most of his life.  For over 27 years he was employed at Noranda until his retirement.   He was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church, a long-time member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge No. 407 AF & AM and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

On August 29, 1970, he married Eva Mae Raymer, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are his son, Clifton Tracy Cossey of Wyatt; his daughters, Terry Ann Cossey (Mike Wareham) of Matthews and Joyce Marie Cossey (Christopher Evans LaCross, Jr.) of Wyatt;  his stepdaughter, Dawnyelle Oliver Belt (Wesley) of Princeton, KY; his daughter in law, Amber Cossey; his sisters, Cathy (Don) Skinner of Kevil, KY and Julia "Lori" Cossey of Wyatt; his grandchildren, Sebastian Jacob Cossey, Sarah Housman, Houston Housman, Lily LaCross, Jax LaCross and Nathan LaCross; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Briar Housman.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Kenneth Gibson will officiate.

Interment with military honors will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
