Clyde Gerald Staggs

Clyde Gerald Staggs, age 80, formerly of East Prairie, MO, died Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the home of his daughter in Charleston, MO.

Born June 24, 1946, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Edd Staggs and Ruby Lee Ricketts Staggs, he had lived in East Prairie most of his life and was a retired farmer.

On November 16, 1963, he married Elizabeth S. Wiggins, who preceded him in death April 21, 2025.

Surviving are his children, Sara (Craig) Poore of Charleston, Peggy Butrum of Sikeston, Tammy Barber of East Prairie, Patty Corwin of Cape Girardeau, Edd (Annette) Staggs of Perryville and Jared Sneeringer of TX; ten grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; his brother, Mike Blasingain of East Prairie; his sister, Dyanne Haddock of Clinton, TN; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Butrum, his brothers, Edward Staggs, Robert Staggs, Gary Staggs, Leroy Blasingain and Donald Williams and his sisters, Beatrice Brewer, Maggie Brewer, Betty Staggs, Judy Keck and Patricia Staggs.

Private services will be held.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
