Colleen Elizabeth Ward, 100, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston, Mississippi. She was born Oct. 31, 1915 in New Madrid County, MO. to the late Edward Louis and Carrell Wilburn (England) LaPlant. She was a member of First Church of God in Columbia and had been an assembly line worker for several years at Vitronic's in Doniphan. She was first married in 1935 to O. L. England and he preceded her in death; she then was married in 1947 to Virnie Lambert who also preceded in death and then on Jan. 18, 1969 she married Judson C. Ward in Corning and he died in September, 1978. She is survived by one son, Edward England of Hernando, Mississippi, 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Graveside services will be held at Dogwood Cemetery, at 11:00 am Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 with Rev. DeWayne Coleman officiating.
