CORA MARIE NOLEN THURMAN, Age 55, a resident of Wyatt, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born September 25, 1960, at Cairo, IL, to the late William Henry and Anna Pauline Dyer Nolen, she had lived in Wyatt most of her life and had attended the Wyatt Baptist Church. A 1979 Graduate of Charleston High School, she had been employed with Brown Shoe Company and then Starks Manufacturing in Charleston until ill health forced her retirement.

Survivors include two sons, John Michael (Danyelle) Thurman of Cape Girardeau and Joshua Eric Thurman of Wyatt; two brothers, Frank Nolen of West Monroe, LA and Thomas Nolen of Charleston; four sisters, Mary (John) Marascalco of Covington, LA; Susan (Ron) Bunton of Jefferson, LA; Fay (Morris) Groves of McKenzie, TN and Leah Ann (Michael) Poindexter of Otisco, IN; one granddaughter, Ambretta Anais McPherson of St. Louis; and her special companion, Tim Carpenter of Wyatt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Howard Nolen, Edward Nolen, Jesse Ray Nolen, Jesse Wilburn Nolen, James Nolen, John Nolen and Robert Nolen; one sister, Lola Bright and one nephew, Jerry Dale Nolen.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Her brothers in law, Michael Poindexter and Ron Bunton, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
