Daisy Pearl Carrington McDaniel, age 96, of Cape Girardeau, MO, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born October 31, 1928, at Deventer, MO, to the late Homer Rainey Carrington and Viola Pearl Easter Carrington, she grew up in the Deventer Community of rural Mississippi County and the Charleston area.  In 1967, she and her husband moved their family to St. Louis when he accepted a position there and remained there until he retired and moved to Fredericktown.  After her husband's passing, she then moved to Cape Girardeau to be closer to family. Throughout her life Daisy had worked as a certified nurse aide.

On January 26, 1946, she married James Leon McDaniel, who preceded her in death August 18, 2002.

Surviving is her son, James "Tom" McDaniel and his wife, Donna, of Athens, AL; her daughters, Linda McDaniel Bone and her husband, Ronnie, of Southaven, MS and Brenda McDaniel of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a large number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Wanda McDaniel Armstrong; her granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Armstrong; her brothers, William Carrington, Hugh Carrington and Dwight Carrington and her sister, Mary Carrington True.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, MO. Her son, Tom McDaniel, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, MO.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bone, Alan Bone, Jason Bone, Charlie Armstrong, Nicholas Armstrong and Ken Greenwood.
