Obituary

Daniel Arlan "Dan" Cashion, proud husband, father, grandfather and longstanding educational leader in Southeast, Missouri, died at the age of 78 years on Wednesday, August 12 th 2020 with family by his side.

Dan was born on October 28 th 1941 in New Madrid, MO to Arlan Cashion and Edith (Waltrip). He married Rita F. (Murrell) Cashion in March 20 th 1963 and she preceded in him death. Dan married Virginia Williams in December 31 st 1993.

Dan graduated from New Madrid High School 1959. He went to Southeast Missouri State University where he obtained a degree in Industrial Arts and a Master Degree Special Education. He had a lifelong passion of education and learning. He worked as a principal at various school districts throughout Southeast Missouri and was Superintendent of Zalma and Lesterville, Missouri high schools.

Dan loved hunting and fishing as well other outdoor activities. Dan favorite past time was finding good deals by buying, selling, and trading opportunities.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Virginia Cashion; four children, Heath (Kristi) Cashion of Jackson, MO; Todd (Patricia) Williams of Hendersonville, TN; Randy Williams of Scott City, MO; Scott (Tasha) Williams of Hendersonville, TN; eight grandchildren, "DJ" Cashion, Megan Cashion, Damon Cashion, Hunter Cashion, Shayden Williams, Destinee Williams, Cameron Williams, and Elizabeth Boyd as well as several great grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, Rita F. (Murrell) Cashion, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Arlan Dale Cashion, parents Arlan Cashion and Edith (Waltrip) Cashion, and siblings W. Ruth Craig and Eugene Rainwater.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
