IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel
Craig
December 7, 1949 – July 31, 2021
DANIEL EUGENE CRAIG, age 71, a resident of Alexandria, LA, died Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
He was born December 7, 1949 in Pocahontas, AR to Hallie Everett and Ruby Frazier Craig, Jr. Following his graduation from the University of Mississippi "Ole Miss", Dan was called to pursue a life in ministry graduating from Rhema Bible Training School in Broken Arrow, OK in 1979. He then pastored the "Faith and Love Church" in Dexter and on March 23, 1988 he married his beloved Sarah. They returned to Oklahoma and graduated from the 2nd year program at Rhema in 1991.
Having a heart for World Missions, they went on to Missions School at Victory Bible Church in Tulsa, OK which they graduated from in 1993. Dan ministered in many countries throughout the years: Zaire, Russia, Siberia, Albania, Romania, Czech Republic, Honduras, Guatemala, Burma, Cuba, and Colombia. In September 1998, Dan and Sarah moved to Alexandria, LA to work at Christian Worship Center. For almost 15-years Dan served in many areas of the church including: Prison Ministry, Bible School Instructor, Hospitality, Hospital Visitation, Prayer Ministry, Outreach and Soul Winning, Mark Hankins Ministries, and Elite (Senior Adult) Connect Leader.
Dan loved Jesus and loved the Word of God. He also enjoyed preaching the Word and always looked for opportunities to tell people about Jesus. He loved to pray for people whether in the hospital, on the phone, in the parking lot or at the altar at church – Dan would light up when people encountered God. Dan was known for his contagious joy, funny sayings and stories - he loved to make others laugh. One of Dan's favorite things to talk about was Heaven. He would smile big and his face would almost glow when talking about spending eternity with Jesus.
There is no defeat for believers, and we know Dan is experiencing an unspeakable joy like never before. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
Surviving in addition to his wife Sarah Terrell Craig, are three children, Donna Alexander of Alexandria LA, Rene Sutton of Sikeston MO, and Chuck Hill of Sikeston MO; two brothers, David (Harriet) Craig of Sikeston and Joe Craig of Dexter; two sisters, Diane Craig of Dexter and Beth Craig (Bryan D.)
