Daniel Wilson Wise, age 89, died Thursday, March 19, 2026, at his home near Anniston, MO, surrounded by his family.
Born March 20, 1937, at Cape Girardeau, MO, to the late Luther Wilson Wise and Imogene Edmonds Wise, he grew up in the Illmo/Fornfelt area and attended school there graduating in 1955 from what is now Scott City High School. He then attended Jefferson Community College at Hillsboro. The river was his life, and for over 50 years he worked as a tow boat engineer. He attended the Charleston Church of Christ and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
On June 2, 1962, he married Ada Ancell Wise, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his children, Lori (David) Rogers of Gerald, MO; Doug (Sun) Wise of Punta Gorda, FL and Jason Wise of Anniston; his son is law, Phillip Meyer of DeSoto, MO; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren as well as other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Meyer and his sister, Ginger Morse.
No services are scheduled at this time.
