DANNY GENE MORGAN, Age 63, a resident of Sikeston, formerly of Charleston, died May 27, 2013, at the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

Born September 30, 1949, at Cairo, IL, to the late Edward Delene and Lula Mae Hanes Morgan, he had lived in Charleston a number of years and was a graduate of Charleston High School. He had lived in Sikeston the past 30 years. He had been employed with Potlach, Brown Shoe Company and the Essex Wire until ill health forced his retirement in 2000.

On September 6, 1986, he married Alice Jean Talley, who survives of the home in Sikeston.

Also surviving are: two sons, Dr. Timothy (Carrie) Morgan of Lees Summit, MO and Charles (Sarah) Mitchell of Sikeston; one daughter, Tammy Ann (Ron) Ward of East Prairie; four brothers, Edward Delene "Dee" Morgan of Buckeye, AZ; Dennis Lee Morgan of Sikeston; Charles David (Mary) Morgan of Florissant, MO and Sammy Dale Morgan of Riverside, CA; two sisters, Diane (Roger) Cain of Charleston and Debbie (Larry) McCurter of East Prairie, MO; six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Gene Morgan, Jr.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2013. William Marshall, pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Floyd Johnson, Josh Morgan, Shapley Hunter, Harrison Beasley, Terry McCurter and Ryan Housman.
