Obituary
DARLENE MICHELLE HOPPER SCOTT, Age 50, a resident of East Prairie, died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born September 22, 1961, at Sikeston, MO to John "Dugan" and Zallie "Sue" Slayden Hopper, she was a 1979 graduate of Charleston High School and had been employed as a rural mail carrier for the East Prairie Post Office until ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of the Eagles Club at New Madrid and a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.
Surviving in addition to her parents are: one son and his fiancé: Zachary Kevin Scott and Megan Pearman of Cape Girardeau, MO and her former husband Greg Scott of East Prairie.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Eric McGruder, pastor of Full Gospel Church in East Prairie, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Slayden, Henry Franklin, Dean Hedge, David Slayden, Ken Shankle and Charles Johnson, Jr.
