Darryl Sharp, age 65, a resident of Benton, died Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the University Hospital in Cleveland, OH.

Born March 29, 1956, at Chicago, IL, to Starling and Virginia Sharp. Darryl was a truck driver and worked for Specialized Hauling on and off for 25 years. He also helped out at a local farm and worked as a chef in Florida and Chicago. Darryl loved to work on his truck, and be outside with the plants and birds. Storytelling was a favorite past time of his. Darryl also cooked breakfast every morning, but not before he had his morning coffee on the porch.

In October of 1976, he married his wife, Debbie Brown Sharp, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are their children, Kelly Sharp of Diehlstadt, MO; Edna Champ of Illinois, Joanna McDonnold of Benton, MO; Billy (Ashleigh) Sharp of Illinois, Darryl Sharp Jr., of Benton, MO and Joey (Mae) Sharp of Iowa; five brothers, Tim Davis, Jason Sharp, Paul Sharp, Wes Collins, Michael "Tank" Cusack; three sisters, Paulette Navarro; Kaitlyn Sharp and Alice Sharp; 12 grandchildren, Elijah, Hemi, Lacy, TJ, Brian, Jase, Blaze, Zain, Damien, Derek, Landon and Emily; three great grandchildren, Zoey, Mason and Wyatt; and two best friends, Johnny and Missy Watkins.

In addition to his parents, Darryl was preceded in death by one grandson.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Maynard Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Darryl Sharp Jr., Jonathan Bowles, Billy Sharp, Joey Sharp, Landon Sharp, Alan Husketh, TJ McDonnold and James.
