David Curtis Hedge, age 59, a lifelong resident of Mississippi County, died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his home near Sikeston.

He was born February 15, 1964, at St. Louis, MO, to the late Melvin Curtis Hedge and Bertha Allene Vinson Hedge. He had lived in Charleston most of his life having moved to Sikeston a few years ago. He was formerly employed with MTS Trucking of Bertrand and Edwards Trucking Company of East Prairie, until his accident May 1, 2019.

He is survived by his son, Austin Johnson of Farmington; his grandchildren, David Skyler Jackson Hedge and Teryn Novaleigh Hedge of Charleston; his crazy sisters, Sheila Kay Harrison and Rhonda Lynn Passley both of Charleston; Donna Kay Jarrett of Newport, AR; Kimberly Ann Riley of Benton and Katina Marie Willis of East Prairie; also, the mother of his children, Kim Webb. He has several stepchildren whom he loved and a few special friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Christopher Hedge; his brother, Larry Martin "Marty" Hedge; his sister, Karen Regina Hedge; his nephew, James "Jamey" Robert Blasingain; and his grandparents, George and Rita Sisk Vinson and Hattie Morrow and George Hedge.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Vinson, David Teague, Dylan Housman, John Tatum, Mark Lee and Harold Hooper,

Honorary pallbearers will be Stephan Willis, James Murray and Edward Jarrett.
