DAVID LEE KETCHUM, Age 61, a resident of Charleston, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 28, 1954, at Wyatt, MO, to the late Jack Stonewall and Gladys Josephine Perry Ketchum, he had lived in Charleston most of his life. A 1975 graduate of Kelly High School, he had been employed with the MoDOT for 23 years until his retirement. He then worked for Layton Farms of Charleston. In 2012, he became a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church where he was active in many areas of ministry.
On October 23, 1976, he married Janice Medlock, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son and daughter in law, Timothy and Alisha Hobaugh Ketchum of Rolla, MO; one daughter and son in law, Brandi and Aaron Miller of St. Charles, MO; one grandchild on the way. Also, a number of nieces, nephews, and sisters in law and brothers in law survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sydney Roberts and Charles Ketchum; two sisters, Nellie Mae Clayton and Mamie Ruth Brown and his father and mother in law, Dudley and Margaret Ledbetter Medlock.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Jon Archie, pastor of the Elm Street Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: B.J. Barnett, Keith Fischer, Charlie Marcum, Matt McMillen, Josh Medlock, Matt Medlock, Alan Miller, Lance Tubbs and Matt Branum.
