David Allen Leonard, 36, a resident of Advance, died suddenly on his way to work, Monday, March 23, 2015. He was born September 18, 1978 in Sikeston to Ted and Cindy (Dock) Leonard who survive of Sikeston. A resident of Advance for the past 5 years, he previously had lived in Sikeston where he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was an avid Drag Car Racer and was a multi-time Track Champion and was also a member of the American Pool Players Association. He had been employed as a welder at Custom Exhaust in Miner for over 16 years. In addition to his parents he is survived by his fiancée, Cindy M. Anschultz of the home in Advance; 1 son David Austin Leonard, Jr. of the home; one stepdaughter, Nikki Anschultz and 1 grandson, Mason Anschultz also of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Leslie Wethington and Travis Hasty of Sikeston and Amanda Leonard and Anthony Hampton of Sikeston; and by 1 niece and 3 nephews. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm Thursday, March 26 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 27 in the chapel with Rev. Johnie Sliger, pastor of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
