Obituary

David Lee O'Neal, 83, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Nov. 15, 1930 at Burdette, Arkansas to the late Walter M. and Dulcie Ann (Pierce) O'Neal. A resident of this area most of his life, he attended school in Bragg City and Morley and graduated from Morley in 1949. He was a veteran serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and had been a farmer for many years, worked as a baler & supervisor at Potlatch and was a real estate broker at O'Neal & Nunnelee Real Estate. He was also a member of Smith Avenue Church of God. He was married to Ella Lorene Milam March 30, 1956 in Sikeston and she preceded him in death July 27, 2011. He is survived by 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Nancy & Tony Northern of Sikeston, Linda & Randy McClendon of Sikeston and Rita & John Imel of Ft. Worth, Tx.; 4 brothers, Walter O'Neal of St. Charles, John O'Neal of Advance, Jim O'Neal of Vanduser and Abe O'Neal of Morley; 4 sisters, Monnie Emerson of Advance, Sarah Milam of Morley, Peggy Vanover of St. Charles and Barbara Brock of St. Charles; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany (Kris) O'Neal-Eastwood of Sikeston, Jacob Campbell of Grangeville, Idaho, Kristain McClendon and Heather Northern of Sikeston. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Judy Campbell in 2008 and by 1 son, Timothy O'Neal in 2009. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm Monday, Dec. 2 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel where Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday Dec.3 with Rev. Ira Sandefer, pastor of Smith Avenue Church of God officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Northern, Kris Eastwood, Marlin O'Neal, Marlin O'Neal, Jr., Wayne O'Neal and Ray Vanover. Online condolencs may be sent to the family at blanchardfuneral.com.
