David H. Sawyer

David Horace Sawyer, age 72, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home in Sikeston, surrounded by his loving family.

Born December 1, 1953, at Risco, MO, to the late Harice Sawyer and Cleola Evans Sawyer, he had lived in Sikeston most of his life and retired from Noranda after many years of service. He attended the Crowe Methodist Church near Matthews.

On July 30, 1973, he married Emma Jean Peterson, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving is his son, Mark (Darice) Sawyer of Springfield; his grandchildren, Aaron (Mariah) Sawyer and Erica (Connor) Sawyer; his sisters, Linda (Mike) Rawlings, Shirley (Bill) Smith, Judy (Jerry) Tipton and Shelia (Mike) Day; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Sawyer and his infant sister, Theresa Sawyer.

The family will receive friends beginning at noon, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Crowe Congregational Methodist Church near Matthews. A celebration of life will follow. Bro. Sonny Jackson will officiate.
