DAVID WAYNE STEPHENS, Age 48, a resident of Wyatt, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born September 19, 1962, at St. Charles, MO to Voundis Wayne and Mary Evelyn Harris Stephens who survive of Wyatt, he had lived in Wyatt most of his life and was a 1981 graduate of Charleston High School. He had been employed with Burkhart Company at Cairo, IL and then Heartland Wood Products and loved to hunt and fish. A member of the Elm Street Baptist Church at Charleston, he served as a Deacon, Assistant Sunday School Teacher and was the chairman of the church's Mission of Faith Food Pantry.
On April 28, 1984, he married Talicha New, who survives of the home at Wyatt.
Surviving be sides his wife and parents are: one son, Joshua Tyler Stephens of Wyatt and one sister, Kathy Stephens Tatosky of Sikeston.
Vistation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Elm Street Baptist Church near Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011. Jon Archie, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Dickie Sanders, Jerry Kinney, Billy Suggs, Kevin Nally, Mikey Johnson,Charlie Marcum, Eugene Myers and Donald Ashworth.
