DAVID WILLIAM STEPHENSON, Age 76, a resident of Bertrand, died Thursday, April 03, 2014, at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 11, 1937, at East Prairie, MO, to the late John Benjamin and Gladys Crawford Stephenson, he had lived in Bertrand most of his life where he was a member of the Cornerstone Church. He was the owner of Stephenson Trucking Company and had worked in building the Alaskan Pipe Line. A United States Air Force Veteran, he had first served in the Missouri National Guard.
On November 14, 1958, he married Elizabeth Ann Aldridge, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are three sons and daughters in law, Larry Ray and Paula Stephenson of Princeton, IN; Daniel David and Theresa Stephenson of Charleston and Kevin Eugene and Winnie Stephenson of Vidalia, GA; one brother, Jerry Stephenson of Florida; four sisters, Barbara Ann Phelps of Kentucky; Sue Seeman and Betty Macias both of California and Mary Stephenson of Arizona; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Adrianna Victoria Sharpe, and four brothers, Paul Stephenson, Jackie Stephenson, Johnny Stephenson, and Roy Lee Stephenson.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Graveside rites will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston. Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, and his son, Larry Stephenson of Princeton, IN, officiating.
The United States Air Force and the Missouri Military Honors Program will provide graveside rites.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston
