David Wayne Stewart

(October 16, 1957 – June 13, 2024)

DAVID WAYNE STEWART, age 66, a resident of Charleston died Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born on October 16, 1957, at St Mary's Hospital in Cairo, Illinois to the late Lonnie Everett and Dorothy Lucille Presson Stewart.  He was a 1976 graduate of Charleston High School.  He attended Southeast Missouri State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1982.

Surviving are two brothers and sisters in law, William L. and Robin Stewart of O'Fallon, and Robert A. and Teressa Stewart of Jonesboro, AR; two sisters, Carol Stewart Hart of Imperial, and Shirley Stewart Luber of Memphis, TN; eleven nephews and nieces, Scott Hart, Susan Lammers, Angela Rhea, Johnathan Luber, Patrick Stewart, Michael Stewart, Ashley Cox, Andrew Stewart, Elissa Baker, Carrie Jackson, and Lonnie Stewart III; and one uncle, Danny Presson.  Also, many great nephews and nieces, cousins and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie E. and Phyllis Dockins Stewart Jr.; brothers in law, Robert Hart and William Luber; and one niece, Nicole Stewart.

Private family interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
