DAVID CLIFFORD WALLACE, age 81, of Sikeston, passed away peacefully at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 1:04 p.m.
He was born May 15, 1939, in Dorena, MO, to the late Miles A. Wallace and Violet R. Johnson Wallace and had lived in Southeast Missouri all of his life.
One of seven children, he was brother to, Virginia, Geneva, Glenda, Milus, Jack and Anthony. He served in the National Guard and farmed with his family. He was then employed with Noranda Aluminum. He then worked as an electrician before retiring from Delta Asphalt. His favorite pastimes were being outdoors, taking in nature and gardening and especially driving the "spillway" to the Mississippi River. He was an avid fan of Walker Texas Ranger TV show. He was of Christian faith.
He was first married to Barbara Smothers, and they adopted a daughter, Starla. Later in life he was married to Nadine Street.
Surviving are his daughter, Starla Wallace (Eric Gibbs); his brothers, Milus G. (Wanda) Wallace, Anthony M. (LaVonda) Wallace and his sisters, Geneva Hastings, Glenda (Barry) Horton and his sister in law, Jackie Wallace; his step daughters, Vicky and Lisa and step grandchildren, Jessica, Courtney and Jordan; nephews, Don, Wally, Brent, Aaron, Chad and Corey and nieces, Cindy, Tammie and Monica; as well as former wives, Barbara and Nadine and his good friend Hubert "Kojack" Allred.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Wallace, sister and brother in law, Virginia and Billy Greenwood; brother in law, Donald Hastings; niece, Kristy Hastings Becker; step grandson, Shane Street and stepson, Mike Street.
He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a kind-hearted soul and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Martin Lucas of East Prairie, will officiate.
Interment with full military honors will follow at the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Eric Gibbs, Anthony Wallace, Chad Wallace, Aaron Wallace, Don R. Hastings and Christian Stallings.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Wallace Hastings and Hubert "Kojack" Allred.
