DEBORAH JEAN PATTON, Age 57, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the home of her mother in Charleston.
Born October 13, 1954, at Russellville, Arkansas, to Pauline Sugg Patton, who survives of Charleston, and the late Raymond Glenn Patton, Sr. She was a 1973 graduate of Charleston High School and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and later a Masters Degree in Elementary Reading. She taught for 32 years at the Warren E. Hearnes Elementary in Charleston until her retirement. She was a member of the Community Teachers Association and the Missouri State Teachers Association. Having lived in Charleston all of her life, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston.
Suriving besides her mother are: one brother, Raymond Patton of Sikeston; one sister and brother –in- law, Melinda and Roy Presson of rural Charleston; two nieces, Amanda and her husband Toby Martin of rural Charleston, and Catherine Presson and her fiancé, Justin Lesyna of Fenton, MO.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Michael Brewer, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
