DELLA FAYE LASTER, Age 84, a resident of Bertrand, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born November 4, 1933, at Osceola, AR, to the late Clarence and Nannie Bell Roberts Cain, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she attended the Church of God of Prophecy of Bertrand. She was employed with the Barkett Grocery and then the Del Farm Grocery for over 43 years until her retirement. A Godly woman, she was known for her strong work ethic. She loved gardening, family vacations and camping. After her retirement, she joked that she was ready to live which completely changed after her two granddaughters came along and became the center of her life. She loved caring for them and spending time with them.

On May 3, 1959, she married Julius L. "Fat" Laster, who preceded her in death October 4, 2009.

Surviving is one daughter, Brenda Laster Limbaugh of Sikeston, one sister, Imogene Fairhurst of Antioch, CA and two granddaughters, Madeline Limbaugh and Emily Limbaugh, both of Sikeston.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, J.C. Cain, Everett Cain and Lester Cain and by one sister, Rena Sills.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Londa Richardson and Jennifer Brashears, will officiate.

A sunset burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
