DELOMA JEAN STEPHENS BARBER, age 88, of Sikeston, died Monday, July 26, 2021, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born August 7, 1932, at Bernie, MO, to the late James Henry "Jim" Stephens and Sarah Elizabeth Boydt Stephens and was a graduate of Qulin High School.   Having lived in Sikeston most of her life, she was a long-time seamstress.   An active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, she sang in the church choir, taught Vacation Bible School and was involved in various other ministries throughout the church, including the church's quilting group.

On November 23, 1957, she married Seaborn "Jack" Barber, who preceded her in death April 13, 2009.

Surviving are her sons, Victor Wayne Stephens of Bement and Wade (Brenda) Barber of Bertrand; her grandchildren, Victor Wayne Stephens, II; Alecia (Jeromy) Jordan; Brent (McLane) Barber and Daniel (Janice) Barber; also, 13 great grandchildren; her brothers, V.W. (Mary) Stephens of Wyatt; Jimmy Stephens and Phil (Hatsumi) Stephens all of Wood River, IL; his sister, Janie Marie Stephens of East Prairie; also, a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Susan Medlin.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2021.   Bob Houchins and Joe McCullough will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Brent Barber, Daniel Barber, Jeromy Jordan, Vic Stephens, II, Caden Bailey and Kyler Jordan.   Honorary pallbearers will be Devyn Tinsley, Jack Barber, Gage Barber and Hunter Stephens.
