DELORIS ANN MEEKS SPITLER, Age 69, a resident of Bertrand, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born November 19, 1942 at Bertrand, MO to the late Frank and Lorene Eastwood Meeks, she have lived in Memphis, TN for over 40 years and returned to Bertrand in 2004. She was of Baptist Belief.

On December 18, 1957, she married Richard Paul Spitler, Sr., who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: five sons, Don Spitler of Austin, AR; Larry Spitler of Mumford, TN; Ron Spitler of Brighton, TN; Jimmy Spitler of Bartlett, TN and Joey Spitler of O'Fallon, IL; one daughter, Kelly Goad of Bertrand; two brothers, Bill Meeks of Bertrand and Don Meeks of Billingsley, AL; four sisters, Mary Allen of East Prairie; Judy Skinner of Sikeston; Jan Harper of Knoxville, TN and Mae McClain of Charleston; 18 grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

One son, Richard Paul Spitler, Jr, four brothers, Marshall Meeks, Frank Meeks, Jr., Charles Meeks and Bob Meeks and one sister, Paula Kay Meeks all preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Dan Faust, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Ricky Spitler, Allen Lindley, Justin Spitler, Joe Spitler, Aaron Tarble and Paul Spitler.
