DENNIS GENE "BUTCH" BURGESS, age 66, a resident of Charleston, died at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Charleston Manor.
He was born June 19, 1943 in Wyatt to the late J.T. Burgess and Hazel Presson. He had lived in Mississippi Co. most of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wyatt.
Surviving are one son, Todd Lowery of St. Louis; one daughter, Amanda Jones of Dexter; one brother, Bobby (Ella Prayor) Grissom of Wickliffe, KY; three sisters, Joyce Kay Clark of Puxico, Brenda Fitzgerald of Charleston, and Mary Lou (Garlin) Johnson of Wappapello, and one grandson.
Friends may call at the McMikle Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, after 5:00 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Dean Wallace, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Wyatt, will officiate.
