Dennis Ryan Butler, age 70, passed away at his home in San Antonio, TX on January 28, 2020.

Born October 28, 1949 at Cairo, IL to the late J.B. and Mea Lou Carr Butler of Charleston, he graduated from Charleston High School in 1968. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and received an honorable discharge on September 8, 1970, returning to Charleston before moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1974. He also lived in El Paso, TX and Poplar Bluff, MO before relocating to San Antonio where he has resided for the past five years. Most of his life was spent in the retail industry.

He is survived by his daughters, Shanna Lee Hanna of San Antonio and Brandey Lynne Ferranti of Hoboken, NJ; two sisters, Christy White of San Antonio and Cathy Brown of Nixa, MO; four brothers, Scott Butler of Spring Hill, TN, Kevin Butler of Columbia, SC, Kelly Butler of Bertrand, MO, and Shannon Butler of Benton, MO; and four grandchildren, Kyalani and Kaden Zinnell and Taylor and Ryan Ferranti.

He was also preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Butler.

Interment will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 9:15 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with military honors.
