Donald "Don" Edmonds, a cherished friend and family member, passed away peacefully at his home in Columbia, Tennessee, on June 29, 2024, at the age of 73.
Born on December 17, 1950, in Cairo, Illinois, to Ray Cleman Edmonds and Florence Pobst Edmonds, he was a graduate of Charleston High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1972. He had a fulfilling career and retired from AutoZone.
Don's life was a tapestry of adventure and service. Renowned for his love of travel and westerns, he reveled in discovering the world on cruises, finding immense joy in each journey. His zest for life and adventurous spirit served as an inspiration to everyone who knew him. A versatile jack of all trades, Don was the family's cornerstone for all matters. His dependability, reliability, and meticulous adherence to schedules made him a pillar of strength for his loved ones. His diverse skills and readiness to tackle any task or challenge rendered him indispensable. Don's legacy, marked by kindness, steadfastness, and a deep commitment to his family, will be treasured by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Among survivors is his sister, Shirley Edmonds Maloney.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Scott Moon, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
