Donald Ray Meeks, 80, of Billingsley, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
Mr. Meeks was born in Missouri on March 2, 1938, to the late George Franklin Meeks and Rettie Lorene Eastwood Meeks. He was a U.S Air Force veteran and worked for many years in the commercial electrical service field. He and his wife, Jeanne, have been the owner/operators of the Country Mart Store in Billingsley since 1992.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jeanne; four children, William Herbert Meeks, Donetta Jean Fuentes, Tambra Lynn Wilcox, Donald Ray Meeks, Jr.; four sisters, Judy Skinner, Mary Allen, Mae McClain and Jan Harper; nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Joe Meeks, Bob Meeks, Frank Meeks, Jr., Charles Meeks and Marshall Meeks and by sisters, Paula Kay Meeks and Deloris Spitler.
Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2018, at the Ridout Prattville Chapel. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Big Springs Baptist Church in Billingsley with burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Whorley, Larry Thomas, Chip Huett, Henry Lanier, Jr., Ronald Huffman and Thomas Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be the Autauga County Sheriff's Department and area first responders.
