DONALD RAY EVANS, Age 69, a resident of Charleston, died Monday, May 30, 2016, at the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.
Born April 30, 1947, at Wyatt, MO, to the late Leroy and Lillian Crawford Evans, he had lived in Charleston most of his life where he had attended the St. Henry Catholic Church and later the Wyatt Baptist Church. He had been employed with the Charleston DPS for 19 years as a public safety officer and then Courtesy Ford and Galemore Motor Company.
On June 26, 1998, he married Tonya Holland Evans, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his children, Amy Evans Pratt of Gainesville, FL; Jordan Evans of West Palm, FL; Zachary (Sharon) Smith of Sikeston and Travis (Debbie) Smith of Charleston; grandchildren, Aaron Pratt, Stephen Pratt, Rose Bird, Kane Bird, Kaitlyn Smith, Travis Gabriel Smith; Jacob Bird-Smith, Desiree' Evans, Dylan Evans and one great grandson, Kasen Gonzalez; brothers, Larry Evans and Gary Evans; sisters, Mary Keller, Dell Johnson and Norma Jean King.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Maze, Charles Evans, Leroy Evans and sisters, Darla Cochran and Brenda Johnson.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
